Forthcoming Fixtures
Supporters, players and coaches alike have been a little frustrated with planning for our next games. The cup is holding us up so at the moment we know definitely that:
1. On 26th March we will be playing West of Scotland or Glasgow Hawks away in the Cup.
2. On 2nd April we will be away to Heriots in the League.
If we win our cup tie then will be away to either Boroughmuir or Dundee in what will be a semi-final. The date of this is still to be confirmed.
The Cup Final is on Saturday 16th April.

British & Irish Cup Review Tonight
President Billy McHarg and Kenny Murray will tonight attend a review of the B&I Cup at Murrayfield. This should be an interesting meeting which includes Melrose and Currie Reps as well as staff from Murrayfield. The competition has proved immensely popular with participating clubs and especially the players.
Controversially although P1 clubs support the tournament some feel it detracts from the league programme. This is not the Ayr view as we believe standards must continue to be pushed up for P1 if we wish to be be accorded our rightful place below the pro teams.
We have no doubt that the British and Irish Cup improves player standards and long may it continue. Hopefully those who represent us on the organising committee will advocate strongly for five Scottish teams to be included - what a difference that would make to the domestic game.
Let's wait and see.

5 Ayr Players in Scotland Squad
British & Irish Cup Stars Play Ireland This Friday
Scotland Club International assistant coach, Peter Laverie, confirmed that five Ayr RFC players had made the squad for this Friday night's fixture against Ireland at Netherdale.
"Gordon Reid, Damien Kelly, Robbie Colhoun and Ross Curle will start the game with Andy Dunlop on the bench. It's great for the club but, of course, it places pressure on the players given their recent commitments in the B&I Cup but that comes with the territory," he said.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm at Gala RFC, Netherdale and admission is free - a big crowd is expected just like last year.
