Dundee v Ayr preview

Ayr go east this weekend to take on Dundee at Mayfield.  It will be another tough away game and one Ayr will be keen to win to keep their position at the top of the RBS Premiership table.

"Dundee are always strong at home, so another week comes along and the competition is as stiff as ever," says head coach Kenny Murray.  "We will need to be at our very best to claim a victory since everyone is trying to knock us off our perch."

After last week's nail-biting win over Boroughmuir, the team's training this week has concentrated on defence.

"We scored some very good tries last week," reflects Murray, "but defence wins you games."

There are no changes to the starting line-up this week, but two on the bench.  Shingai Mpofu returns to the replacements, as does club international centre Dean Kelbrick after a long-term injury that he sustained on the first day of the season.  Sylvain Diez turns out for the 2nd XV this Saturday in order to get game time at scrum-half.

The match kicks off at the earlier time of 2pm.

Team (subject to change on the day):
Grant Anderson, Cammy Taylor, Robbie Fergusson, Richard Dalgleish, Craig Gossman; Finn Russell, Peter Jericevich; Denford Mutamangira, Hayden Wisnewski, George Hunter; Nick Campbell, Scott Sutherland; Colin White, Andrew Dunlop, Calum Forrester (capt).

Replacements: David Young, D'arcy Rae, Graham Fisken, Shingai Mpofu, Dean Kelbrick.
