It was announced this afternoon that Ayr, along with their fellow top four clubs Gala, Melrose and Heriot's, will not be taking part in the British and Irish Cup in the 2014/15 season.
Following changes to the structure of the competition, it was decided that the four clubs should withdraw in order to protect the integrity of the BT Premiership.

Ayr are the only Scottish club to have reached the quarter-finals of the B&I Cup and were the only team from north of the border to record a win in the 2013/14 competition, thumping Ulster Ravens 41-22 at Millbrae in December and holding on for a gritty 14-13 home win over Jersey in January.
