Ayr are refreshed and recharged after the festive break and will need to be on their guard against Selkirk on Saturday at Millbrae in the final home game of the BT Premiership.
The hosts are determined to stay at the top of the table and secure a home play-off with only three league fixtures left, while the visitors, whose relegation has already been confirmed, will want to sign off their campaign with a strong performance.
'Selkirk will be coming with a point to prove and nothing to lose, so we expect a tough battle,' says Ayr head coach Calum Forrester. 'But we are looking forward to welcoming them and playing in front of a home crowd again.'
In the squad, James Malcolm starts at hooker after some heartening appearances for Glasgow Warriors. Will Bordill and Archie Russell return from injury at openside flanker and outside centre respectively.
