Pete is Premiership player of the year
It was the Scottish Rugby Club Awards Dinner at BT Murrayfield last night and Pete McCallum took home the title of BT Premiership player of the season.
The number eight has been something of a try-machine for Ayr this year, touching down 15 times, but it's been his all-round play that has impressed, and opponents would often have a look of dread on their face as the 23-year-old broke away from the back of the scrum and tore their defence to shreds.
Ayr were nominated for club of the season, but that accolade went to Annan RFC. There was other Ayrshire representation there too, with Ardrossan at the dinner and Marr's Ben Johnston - who spent a season with Ayr - named BT National 1 player of the season.
