Former Ayr man could face Lions

Former Ayr favourite Jeff Wilson has been named in the training squad of the combined NSW-Old Country side that will take on the British and Irish Lions in Australia next month.  Fingers crossed that Jeff makes the final squad!

Kenny and Peter join 6 Nations Coaching Conference in Rome

The SRU today announced that Ayr's head and assistant coaches Kenny Murray and Peter Laverie will be taking part in this summer's 6 Nations Coaching Conference in Rome.  They, and four others involved in Scottish rugby, will join coaches from all six nations in the annual get-together to share knowledge and experience.

Ayr at Glasgow City 7s

Ayr will be taking part in the Glasgow City 7s on Saturday 18th May at Cartha QP RFC, Dumbreck.  After reaching the quarter-finals at last week's Selkirk 7s and the semi-finals at last month's Melrose 7s, Ayr will be looking to put in another strong showing.

The draw has already been made, and Ayr will play Dalziel in the first tie at 1pm on the main pitch. 

Scotland 7s international Peter Jericevich captains the squad of ten:

This final tournament in the Arnold Clark Legacy features teams from Glasgow Hawks, Glasgow Warriors, Saracens, Boroughmuir and Stirling County, amongst others.

Robbie and D'arcy feature in Scotland U20s narrow defeat

Ayr's young guns Robbie Fergusson and D'arcy Rae started for Scotland under-20s today as they took on their Irish counterparts in a warm-up match for the Junior World Championships.  The young men from Millbrae both played excellently, but the Scots were pipped at the post 24-21.  Read the full report here.

Pat MacArthur named in Scotland squad for SA tournament

Former Ayr player Pat MacArthur has been named in the Scotland squad that will travel to South Africa at the end of the month to take part in a new quandrangular tournament.  The Glasgow Warriors hooker will have the chance to win his first international cap, having previously been on the bench for Scotland. 

As well as playing South Africa, Scotland will face Italy and Samoa.  Pat is one of nine uncapped players in the squad hoping to take to the field.  We wish him the best of luck!

Ayr voted Neil Drysdale's club of the season
