Boroughmuir v Ayr preview

Ayr welcome Scotland international and British and Irish Lion Sean Maitland into the team for a tricky encounter with Boroughmuir at Meggatland in week six of the BT Premiership.

Boroughmuir are currently mid-table and recorded a heartening win over Melrose in week three, so cannot be underestimated.  After a close call against Edinburgh Accies at Millbrae last weekend, head coach Calum Forrester knows Ayr will need to up their game in the capital.

"We were not clinical enough in attack last week and we wasted a number of opportunities to score. We will need to be more accurate at Meggetland where chances to score will be limited," he says.   "Boroughmuir will be looking to bounce back after losses in recent weeks, so we are expecting another hard battle this weekend."

As well as Maitland pulling on the pink and black, his Glasgow Warriors team-mate Dougie Hall again turns out for Ayr after a strong performance last week.  George Hunter is travelling with the Warriors this weekend, so his place in the front row is taken by a returning Nick Cox.

Kerr Gossman has recovered from injury and lines up on the wing with Maitland, and Danny McCluskey starts at stand-off.

On the bench, Craig Brown returns and Stuart Fenwick takes Cox's spot.
