Competing against teams from Girvan, Ayr, Kyle, Queen Margaret and Prestwick Academies, Belmont beat QMA in the play-offs before beating Kyle in the finals. They then went on to play at Rugby Park against the winners of the North and East Ayrshire Schools Conferences.
Although Belmont didn't win in Kilmarnock, they have made great strides in their skills and knowledge of the game, as did all the schools taking part.
The aim of the SASC was to promote and encourage rugby at schools where the sport wasn't already established and to give the players week-in week-out competition.
Unfortunately, the girls' competition has not yet been completed due to the weather. The remaining fixtures will be rearranged for a later date.
Girvan, Carrick, Ayr, Belmont, Kyle, Prestwick, Queen Margaret and Auchinleck Academies have all fielded a high number of female players and it has been great to see so many taking up rugby and competing every week.
